My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was one of the best books I have read. I would make it a must-read for any girl of any age.

  1. I love to read this book (I don't really read it in order). It's been a blessing in my life. My mom started it when I was about 10 or 11 years old, and well.... at that time I don't think that I was really ready for her to just read it (I needed it to really be explained in detail, but my mom didn't have the time to do that). Plus, all I wanted to do was to get finished with my school work and play. But then when I got around 12 years old I started to wonder what it would be like to read it again, and to really try to learn from it. I didn't really pick it up till my 13th birthday, and now at the age of 13 I understand it better but wish that I could have started to read it when I was a little younger and really dig deep into it (with the help of my mom). I love all of the things that are talked about in it, especially the modesty parts. A couple of years ago I really started to wear skirts and so I wanted to know why I felt that I should wear them, I didn't really have a good answer and I wanted to know why my mom didn't like the styles that the girls around me are wearing. So I started to really think about that and when I read the chapter on modesty I really started to form my idea on why it's better not to wear what the world tries to put out as "fashion" these days, and to look to God for my standards. This book is such an inspiration!

  2. I agree completely. We've had the book ever since I could remember and I just never felt like reading it. I loved the modesty and simplicity the author painted of the girl and how she used real stories. The book made me look at my life and how I treat others in a whole new light. Thanks for the comment.

    Prayers,
    Esther
